Owner / Tattoo Artist
Jaille Hayes
Jaille (pronounced Jaylee) began her tattooing journey in the legendary Tom's Terrific Tattoos shop. She was given the honor of taking the reigns as Tom retired from his chair and decided to set down his machines. After 2 years of working together, Hailey and Jaille decided it was time to move into a larger space that could accommodate their growing business.
Over the years, Jaille has focused on learning many different styles, originally studying under Jaime Parent and Tom Murphy, she ranges from fine line to color illustrative realism and beyond. She loves to create in many different facets, so share your ideas and visions and she'll bring them to life!

Hailey Rudy
Hailey is our second artist who has a new age approach to composition and style, focusing on personalized black & gray, and line work pieces. Along with tattoos, she also finds enjoyment in creating illustrative realism charcoal and pointillism pieces. While she is still new to the industry, becoming licensed in 2024, she is always looking for challenges to help her learn and grow as an artist. She had been studying the industry for years before finding her mentor Jaille Hayes in 2022, and started her apprenticeship in 2023. She is excited to see her progress over the years in the industry, and learn as many things as she can!
The Full Story
The Tempest was founded right in the heart of Ellsworth, Maine by local artists Jaille Hayes and Hailey Rudy who recently moved after 2 years from their smaller studio to a larger more personalized space. Our goal is to give you a relaxed tattooing experience where you can feel right at home in a safe clean environment. When you leave, you get to take a beautiful tattoo and hopefully some fun memories along with you!

Touch ups are at the artist's discretion.

Deposits are required to secure your booking date, these start at $100 and are non refundable. If you need to reschedule, another deposit is required. After 3 consecutive cancellations/reschedules, clients will not be put back on the books without the tattoo being paid in full upfront.

No call No shows will not be scheduled again.

Artists do not send out completed artwork/stencils before your appointment.
- Artists are not liable for reactions to the tattoo ink, if a reaction occurs contact your doctor and let us know as soon as possible.
We will not tattoo you if you are :

Pregnant/Nursing/Postpartum within 6 months

Sunburnt

Healing major Injuries

Having surgery within 6 weeks

Have any type of infection

On antibiotics
-
Are unhygienic
-
Rude to your artist
-
No call No shows
Tattooing a client with medical conditions that could affect the tattoo, healing process, or cause harm to the client are by artists discretion.
